The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Gujarat president, Jayant Patel, on Friday said that the party could field either former cricketer Ajay Jadeja or Bollywood actress Amisha Patel from Rajkot parliamentary constituency.
“It is true that we are going to field a celebrity from the Rajkot seat. The choice is between Ajay Jadeja and Amisha Patel. The central leadership will decide who should be fielded from Rajkot,” Patel said.
The NCP leader said the popularity of these celebrities would get victory for the party.
“Star value certainly works everywhere in the country. Both Amisha Patel and Ajay Jadeja have their roots in Gujarat. The celebrity status and the popularity of the two will help us win,” he said.
Patel said that the party could also field another celebrity from the Ahmedabad (East) constituency. (ANI)

Ameesha Patel and her beau Kanav Puri have been in splits ever since an e-mail has been in circulation since last week alleging Kanav's 'gay' preferences. The couple feels some- one is deliberately trying to create mischief by doing so.
The e-mail sent by one Natasha Rodrigues reads, "Recently, I came across this article about actress Ameesha Patel's London-based businessman boyfriend Kanav Puri on the internet. This is an article which was printed on the internet in July, 2004 (link) before he and Ameesha fell hopelessly in love. This is the true picture of Kanav who is a gay or may be now is a bisexual since he met Ameesha and is now seeing her. Maybe Ameesha is just a front for him to keep shis parents happy as he is their only son and the heir to their business empire."The actress says, "Kanav and me were highly entertained by the article. It livened up a really dull day! This whole gay thing is hilarious! Trust me, Kanav is not gay. I should know," she giggles and adds, "We are intrigued that someone is so obsessed with us, knows things about both us, that even we don't. It was very entertaining. Vikram (Bhatt) has never been to Wharton; forget about studying there."The e-mail further states, "Ameesha Patel dumped poor Vikram Bhatt after he supported her for three years. Her parents had emptied her bank accounts and left her without anything. Vikram gave her shelter, care, food, understanding, expensive gifts, diamonds and exquisite holidays abroad, taking her out to various restaurants and protection and that is what he got in return. When Ameesha's professional life and personal too with Vikram was on track, she bought a 4BHK penthouse and another 2 BHK house, one in Hyderabad too and all the frills that go with it."Ameesha says, "The girl seems to know more than me. Vikram's a sweet chap and a good friend. I had bought the 4BHK penthouse five years ago when I was dating Vikram. In fact, Vikram's mom had arranged for the pandit who did the griha- pravesh for the flat. It is me and only me who supports myself. Whatever I own today is through my hard work. By God's grace, I have the ability to and have always been financially independent. Vikram has never given me expensive gifts. But my other friends and he emotionally supported me when I didn't have a dime to my name. I don't need anybody to support myself. Anyways this is all too petty to even discuss."

Ameesha is really bent on making her career revive the same vitality and vigour as it had when she gave the superhits like ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ and ‘Gadar-Ek Prem Katha’. First she shed her baby doll image and transformed into a glam doll avatar for ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’. Then she was seen as a chic on the covers of seventeen, as a coy bride on the covers of ‘Verve’ and now you have Ameesha oozing sensuality on the covers of the latest issue of ‘MW’.
The issue has Ameesha speak all about herself including her self-assessment in which she says, “My versatility is my USP. I can play a school girl, a mother, and a seductress with equal ease, I hate any man who tries too hard to impress or whose swagger says, ‘Look At Me’’. Ameesha’s forthcoming flicks include ‘Chatur Singh’, ‘Two Star’, ‘Run Bhola Run’, to name a few!

The stomach certainly seems the way to a man’s heart especially in Ameesha Patel’s case. The actress is learning to cook different kinds of dishes and even go grocery shopping. All because industrialist beau Kanav Puri is a big foodie.Ameesha says, “Kanav is the only man I’ve cooked for. I am learning more as he’s into food and eating. During my college days, I used to cook chicken roast, bake cakes and even make daal as well as beef steak.”But after becoming an actress, she didn’t have time to pursue cooking due to the hectic shooting schedule.
“But now that I am living on my own, I often go shopping at the supermarket for foodstuff. I am constantly sourcing various types of cheese and meats as Kanav loves lambs, pork and hams. Nowadays, even if I make a simple sandwich, I try and make it interesting.”She states that she has always had a sense of taste and flavour. “Even when I am making chaat or bhelpuri, I mix and show everything to my cook so he can do it up properly.”Ameesha adds, “Now the best dishes I can whip up are pasta and kheema mutton curry.”

Amisha Patel is an Indian Bollywood actress. Making her acting debut in the blockbuster Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), Patel won critical praise for her performance in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema. She would subsequently star in a number of films, most of which proved unsuccessful at the box office. However, her performance in the 2006 film Ankahee, received critical recognition, and she followed it with a supporting role in the hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

This time around, we take a scene from a rather recent film that didn't quite set the box office on fire. Still, it is filled with many intimate moments. The scene in question is probably the best of Amisha Patel's career and it is from the film Ankahee. Apparently, her performance shocked the entire crew so much that while it was being filmed director Vikram Bhatt forgot to say cut!THE SCENE: Nandita (Amisha Patel) visits the apartment of Miss World, the supermodel and the movie star Kavya Krishna (Esha Deol). She comes to confront Kavya about the scandalous affair that Nandita's husband, Shekhar, has been having with Kavya. Nandita begs Kavya to stop seeing her husband because she wants her husband back; to have her family back. Nandita is almost breaking down because her world, that she has spent seven years building, is being destroyed by Kavya's relationship with her husband. Kavya locks the doors to her room because she does not have the courage to face her but Nandita continues to speak. Nandita tells Kavya that she is simply a housewife who tries to give her family happiness, while surrendering to her husband, who found it so easy to walk out of their relationship. Kavya is deeply affected and the scene ends with her swallowing a bunch of sleeping pills as Nandita leaves the apartment and sees none of this behind the closed door

The Patel and Roshan families are friends, and Amisha won the heroine’s role in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000) during a joint family dinner.[2]This film made her a star overnight. In Humraaz she played the selfish girlfriend of Akshaye Khanna, who marries Bobby Deol to grab his wealth — but, seeing Bobby’s honesty, her character surrendered to him. She helped Karishma Kapoor’s comeback in Mere Jeevan Saathi but Karisma’s feud with her husband generated more publicity than the film itself. Ankahee is the story of her boyfriend Vikram Bhatt’s earlier life. She played the role of his wife.
